![]() ![]() So, I’m almost ready to give up on Audacity (sad, because I like how easy it is to work with) and go with some other company’s product, but I wanted to be certain that Audacity won’t work for me before I give up. I was a software developer for 13 years, so I know a lot about how to do it, but the instructions, my abilities, or some other factors are preventing me from successfully going that route. You can always record two channels, then play the first two recorded tracks and record another two tracks while listening. I even tried to compile the source code with ASIO, but have not successfully done so. Audacity can edit multiple tracks fine, it is just that it may not be able to record more than two channels at once without ASIO. ![]() I have not been able to re-create any of the scenarios that enabled 4-track recording for other people in the forum, so that’s why I’m asking. In the Audio Host drop-down, I can choose MME, Windows DriectSound, or Windows WASAPI, and then I can only choose a stereo option for the UMC404HD, either channels 1-2 or 3-4. Here’s all the technical stuff for my setup:ĭell Inspiron 5482 with a Core i5-8265U 1.60 GHz processor, 8 GB RAMīehringer UMC404HD 192k USB 2.0 - Driver 4.5, At some point in the past, it worked (on an different PC I still have a couple of those recordings where I did 4 drum tracks simultaneously), so I’m hopeful that there is a solution for me. I’ve read and tried all the solutions I could find for 4-track recording on Audacity, using my Behringer UMC404HD, and nothing is solving the problem. ![]()
